I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Not What You See

You see his nature
You see his pride
Do you really know
What he has inside?

You see a failure
You see his sin
But you cannot know
The pain deep within

Sometimes a small glimpse
Of what he could be
Shines into your heart
Despite what you see

Once you’re in heaven
Then you will know
What God sees inside
Stuff that doesn’t show

Only faith can see
What he will become
The man he will be
When God’s work is done

God’s grace in sight
Faithless thoughts at bay
Believing only the best
Then you’ll truly pray
