I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

He Gave Them Breath

He betrays Him with a kiss
Judas, His companion and friend
Never a greater crime than this
But Jesus endures it to the end
As Judas betrayed Him to death
He gave him breath

Pharisees, scribes and priests
Make a mockery of His trial
As they make His shame complete
Jesus bears them all the while
As they condemned Him to death
He gave them breath

Roman soldiers, brutal and strong
Spitting, beating, crucifying
Patiently He suffers all wrong
For He knows why He is dying
As they tortured Him to death
He gave them breath

I ignored Him for long years
His loving heart I grieved
Giving in to doubts and fears
It took so long till I believed
Though my sins caused His death
He gave me breath
