I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Were the Angels Heartbroken?

things into which angels long to look (1 Peter 1:12)

Were the angels heartbroken
When Jesus went to the cross?
When Heaven’s darling died
Did they feel pain and loss?

Surely they must have marveled
When God’s Son came to earth
Infinity wrapped in frailty
Delivered through a virgin birth

Even the mightiest angel
Must have been amazed to see
Jesus healing all the sick
And such sinful men set free

But could they have ever guessed
The Father’s amazing plan
That His own Son for sinners
Would die at the hands of man?

As He turned the other cheek
Were they sadly shedding tears?
When he walked the hill of Calvary
Were they shaken and in fear?

Angels long to look into it
This precious sacrifice
Amazed that for us sinners
He Himself would pay the price
