I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Eternity

“When the worst happens in the life of a child of God…
Living my life for God can be tough
But I know when the way gets rough
The grace of God is always enough
When my eyes are on Him, and not me

I know my trials come from above
God chastens the son that He loves
And I’m sure that when push comes to shove
That I’m being prepared for eternity

…the best remains…
For worldly living I have no need
Living for self is nothing but greed
From my lusts I’m being freed
That a vessel of His love I will be

When eternal things are kept in sight
Full of love, I’ll do what’s right
Not for reward, but that I might
Have treasures in eternity

I do not want heaven on earth
I have come to the end of my search
For no one can judge the worth
Of what God has in store for me

That I will be with Jesus forever
In a bond of love that will not sever
So by His grace may I never
Cease looking toward eternity
