I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Needy

O God, I am so needy of You
No good thing in my life is mine
Without You there’s naught I can do
I can do nothing apart from the vine

I need You to give me breath
and protect me daily from death
I need You to keep me from sin
and to purify me within
I need You to guide me each day
to teach me to walk in the way
I need You to make me meek
and not for my own will to seek
I need You in order to bless
to give to those who have less

God, keep me from thinking it’s me
Who does any good thing on this earth
O Lord, it’s only because of Thee
That my life can have any worth
