Nothing in this life makes sense
Everything is out of control
Confusion and pain
And darkness reign
In this world that’s lost its soul
People will always disappoint
When I am needy who is there?
We all live for “me”
Does no one see
That so few are left who even care?
My own heart is my greatest thorn
I don’t want to do what I do
God, tell me why
I still lust and lie?
Why is it so hard to live for You?
At times I am so overwhelmed
I know not where I can turn
Heart full of fear
Eyes full of tears
For something real my soul doth yearn
But then in the midst of the storm
As wind and waves batter still
I cling to Thee
And I am free
From fear as I hide in Thy will
For from Thee a beacon is shining
Across the ocean stormy and dark
Never does it fail
Guides me as I sail
To Thee, Lord, my only rock
- About Me
- I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.
Copyright Notice: I have registered all the poems on this site with the U. S. Copyright office. I have done this for the sole purpose of safeguarding them from misuse or corruption, and not because they are "mine" exclusively. I believe that all my work belongs to God alone and is to be used to further His kingdom. To that end, permission is granted to print, copy, or otherwise use this work. I only ask that in whatever way, Jesus Christ is glorified as Lord.
