I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Not Home Yet

There is still such trial and pain
Every day is such a fight
Sunny days give way to rain
Hope eclipsed by darkest night

Disappointment fills our days
We are never fully satisfied
Nothing fills us all the way
Our brightest dreams have died

Our questions are unanswered still
So much we wish we could know
It’s hard to know and do God’s will
Never sure which way to go

Jesus, though He lives inside our hearts
Is not as close as He could be
So often we feel many miles apart
We long to touch eternity

We are not home yet
