I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Need Him

Life just goes your way
All just fun and play
Living for today
Doing everything that feels good to you
Daily your sins, they still bleed Him
Of your true condition, you haven’t a clue
When will you know you need Him?

Stuff of earth you hoard
Give yourself rewards
Nobody is your lord
You have no need for a savior at all
You never, ever try to heed Him
I hope some day you’ll answer His call
I’m praying some day you’ll need him

Trials will appear
You will face your fears
And in the midst of tears
You will wonder to whom you can turn
You’ll be desperate enough to plead Him
When it all falls apart you will learn
Because in that day you will need Him
