I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Lion and Lamb

Gentle Jesus, meek and mild
Is that all he really is?
There’s a side that’s strong and wild
We must also understand this

Yes, Jesus is the Lamb of God
Led to the slaughter so meek
He walked in love wherever He trod
His body human and weak

He is always underneath you
He’s willing to wash your feet
He is a servant; it is true
But the picture is incomplete

The Lion of Judah, He is as well
His roar shakes Heaven and earth
Of His awesomeness, who can tell?
His glory of surpassing worth

Our Lord He is, and King
He brooks no pride of man
The Creator of all things
The universe sustained by His hand

This is our Most Holy Lord
Our Savior, Master and All
Bringing not peace but a sword
At His feet we must fall

Yes, He is loving and so kind
But this must not be forgot:
To His terribleness we oft are blind
For He is good, but safe He’s not
