“Why this waste?” (Matt. 26:8)
Justified by my words
So why can He not see?
He wants to be crucified
And that’s just fine with me
“What are you willing to give me?” (Matt. 26:15)
These men of God accept me
They give me what I’m due
Don’t know why I feel uneasy
This is the right thing to do
“Surely it is not I, Rabbi?” (Matt. 26:25)
He’s been saying it all along
One of us twelve would betray
How did it become me?
Now it’s too late to turn away
“Hail, Rabbi!” (Matt. 26:49)
Every kiss I give Him
Hollows me out inside
Now all I see before me
Is a fiery pit opened wide
“I have sinned” (Matt. 27:4)
Each and every ringing coin
Stabs deep within my heart
Everything I thought I wanted
Has completely come apart
Woe to that man (Matt. 26:24)
My last foothold is gone
There is no way out of this
So clinging onto shadows
I fall in the abyss
- About Me
- I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.
Copyright Notice: I have registered all the poems on this site with the U. S. Copyright office. I have done this for the sole purpose of safeguarding them from misuse or corruption, and not because they are "mine" exclusively. I believe that all my work belongs to God alone and is to be used to further His kingdom. To that end, permission is granted to print, copy, or otherwise use this work. I only ask that in whatever way, Jesus Christ is glorified as Lord.
