I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

The Center of Your Will

It’s a joy, not a burden to me
To be where You called me to be
I answer Your call
Surrendering all
In your will I’m truly free

A past full of pain and sin
Was nothing more than this:
The perfect sovereign preparation
For eternities of bliss

You knew what You were doing
You needed no help of mine
I went through all You willed
So I could be all thine

Hide me in the center of Your will
Hide me from sin, self and pride
Closed in by Your loving arms
There is no better place to hide

Now I’m trapped in You, O Lord
And what a lovely cage
To be protected from my self,
My will, my sin and my rage

I need Your protection Lord
And I need so much grace
To carry me through this life
Until I see Your face

Hide me in the center of Your will
Hide me from sin, self and pride
Closed in by Your loving arms
There is no better place to hide

It’s a joy, not a burden at all
You have made me for this call
I give unto you
The service that’s due
I surrender to You my all
