I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

The Call

Haven’t you had your fill?
Won’t you give up your will?
The cross is calling, come and die
All your rebellion still
And your ambition kill
Your self-will you must crucify

Give up all your pride
The arrogance inside
The cross is calling, come and die
Self-sufficiency has died
Come to Him as a child
Your pride you have to crucify

No more life of your own
Live now for others alone
The cross is calling, come and die
Lay yourself at His throne
All your plans disown
Your own life won’t you crucify?

Why not put it to the test?
The cross-life is so blessed
The cross is calling, come and die
The Father’s gifts are best
Enjoy His peace and rest
And all else He will crucify
