I began writing poetry early in my walk with God. I have found it to be the best and sometimes the only way to express what God has made real in my heart. All of these poems are gifts from Heaven to me. Writing them and even re-reading them myself has blessed me beyond measure. I now pass the gift on to you. May you be touched and changed.

Need

To Jackie Pullinger, who gave us such a powerful call
to see and meet the needs around us

Need is all around us
In this world rife with sin
No one is not hurting
Without or deep within

Need, it cries for mercy
The cries of those pleading
Lonely, tired, hurting, screaming
Those lost and dying and bleeding

Need, it is God’s passion
His broken heart, it groans
His will: to fill all need
Must he do it alone?

Need, does it concern us?
Are we burdened deep within?
Will we rise with mercy
Or stay in selfish sin?
